This year's Designblok opening at Konsepti was once again marked by the traditional Holport Party – an evening full of design, inspiration, and exceptional encounters. During the festive evening, we presented a new exhibition and a varied accompanying program, and welcomed foreign guests and a record number of visitors.
The star of this year's festival was Patricia Urquiola, a world-renowned architect and designer who came to Prague in person to receive the Designblok Lifetime Achievement Award. In the lobby of the Konsepti showroom, we presented a selection of her iconic works – from the experimental Gruuvelot sofa for Moroso to the redesign of the legendary Tufty-Time 20 by B&B Italia. Designers from the interdisciplinary studio Snøhetta, Seppe van Heusden and Marius Myking, also accepted our invitation. At the Konsepti Stage, they presented their latest project – the modular Array sofa for MDF Italia. Guests had the opportunity to gain insight not only into the creative process, but also into the philosophy of the studio, which connects the work of more than three hundred creative professionals around the world.
Despite the rainy weather, there was a great atmosphere at Holport. We would like to thank everyone who helped create it – the Lunchmeat studio for their breathtaking audiovisual installation Topography of Bold Ideas, which set the Holport courtyard in motion and lit it up.
A big thank you also goes to Lasvit and Designbath, who traditionally co-organized the event with us.
