description
Constructed from four interlocking wooden boards arranged end-to-end, it abandons the traditional leg-seat-back structure in favour of a continuous, Z-shaped ribbon of wood. A testament to Cassina’s exceptional craftsmanship, the visible dovetail joints enhance both the structural integrity and the visual appeal of the chair. The coloured version, with its open-pore finish, emphasises the natural grain of the wood and highlights Rietveld’s exploration of vertical, diagonal, and horizontal planes—reflecting his ongoing variations on this radical, minimalist form.
