Tab Floor

The Tab Floor Lamp, designed in 2011 by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, is a minimalist yet technically refined luminaire that provides direct, adjustable lighting. Its body, crafted from painted pressofused aluminium, features a distinctive folded form that creates a clean, architectural silhouette. This understated shape houses a precision ceramic reflector, producing pure, controlled illumination ideal for tasks such as reading, sketching, or writing. The lamp’s head offers subtle adjustability, allowing light to be directed onto a surface for focus or angled toward a wall for softer, ambient reflection. Part of the Tab collection—available in both desk and floor versions—it embodies the designers’ philosophy of simplicity meeting performance. While its form emerged from an intuitive early sketch, the lamp underwent four years of development, resulting in a timeless piece that balances visual purity with functional versatility.
