Shogun

Kettal presents Shogun, a distinctive armchair designed by Verner Panton in 1994–1995, reissued to coincide with the centenary of the designer’s birth. The piece reflects his enduring vision of design as an immersive experience shaped by geometry, movement, and human interaction. Rooted in the cylinder, the chair features a seat and backrest shell formed by two semi-circles. Equipped with castors, it moves effortlessly through space, embodying Panton’s rejection of static seating positions. The name Shogun draws inspiration from the iconic 1980s television series. Kettal reinterprets the design with a refined selection of contemporary finishes: it is available with a polymer or wood frame (in oak or lacquered finishes) and upholstered in leather or fabric. Shogun integrates seamlessly into dynamic workplaces and hospitality environments where flexibility and comfort converge.
