description

Currently available in a single size, the Rio low table was originally conceived by Charlotte Perriand in two versions. Between 1962, when she first designed the piece, and 1967, she developed a larger iteration intended for the Japanese Embassy in Paris.

The table's distinctive form is composed of six solid wood segments, each with a different radius and slightly offset from one another, resulting in a subtly jagged outer edge. A circular opening at the centre evokes a sense of balance and gravity.

Cassina reissued the original 1962 version, faithfully reproducing its design with the help of exceptional craftsmanship by artisans from Meda, a town in the Brianza region, north of Milan.
