The inspiration dates back to a cold afternoon when Luca Meda and Aldo Rossi, walking through the Fontivegge Centre, were struck by the large green glass factory façade. Their vision? Transform architecture into furniture.
Unveiled at the 1991 Salone del Mobile, Piroscafo debuted in white and Prussian green, standing as a bold centerpiece. In 1993, an extraordinary 13-meter version with red and black funnels, resembling a real ship, greeted visitors.
More than three decades later, Piroscafo remains an icon of timeless design.
