PROJECT: FLAT IN BUBENEČ

Apartments and villas

In her recently taken on project, a Prague flat located in the Bubeneč area, Tereza Stambolijská transforms each piece of furniture into art.

Tereza often likes to insinuate a dialogue between the original and contemporary features of her interiors. She again mastered this element of her practice when working on a well-preserved apartment building from the early 1920 in which windows and interior doors characterise the space. One of the centerpieces there is the Coordinates lighting by Flos. Its placement refers to the old custom of hanging a cross in an entrance hall – an old tradition practised by previous generations.

The interior features timeless materials, thought-out details, bespoke built-in furniture, and draws from psychology of colours. The motif of creating interesting room-to-room viewpoints throughout the space is central to the project. Additionaly, the unique bespoke furniture allowed for clever solutions such as the extended windowsill in the bedroom.
