Prague from a new perspective

Reports

I always think I know it already, that I’ve exhausted all the points of view. That it can’t surprise me anymore… And yet it does.
Prague Castle has opened the Southern Gardens. They cover a relatively narrow strip along the south wing of the Castle, one opening seamlessly onto the other, and are called Rajská, Na Valech and Hartigovská. They can be accessed from the east or west end or directly from the Plečnik Stairs leading from the St. Vitus Cathedral.

Every step offers a different experience, a different view – of the Castle, of Prague. The shade of tall trees, ivy and other creepers, adequately decorative plants, groomed paths, tasteful fittings – everything is just right, moderated and in sensitive harmony with the majestic symbol of Czech statehood. Statues, symbols, unbleached brickwork, copper ironwork, anthracite paint on steel elements; all in perfect harmony. The easy walk reveals various parts of the Castle, various periods and styles, the sequence and layers of creation of its parts. I was won over by the diverse vistas, corners and compositions. And a new view of the city below me. Prague is beautiful. Keep snapping away, friends from Japan, Italy and elsewhere… snap away. It’s worthy. DejfRez.
