The generous, loose cushions are cradled within a geometric cage made of painted or chrome-plated tubular steel, which serves as the primary support element across all variations—from the classic armchair with one or two armrests to the two- and three-seat sofas.
This architectural approach to furniture design highlights the contrast between the metal frame and the soft, inviting volumes of the cushions, embodying the concept of modern comfort. Over the years, Cassina has worked closely with Charlotte Perriand, her daughter Pernette, and the Fondation Le Corbusier to develop new versions and finishes that reinterpret the original idea with contemporary sensibilities while remaining true to its spirit and authenticity.
