The design introduces an innovative take on Cassina’s signature capitonné technique—reinterpreted with an industrial approach developed in collaboration with Philippe Starck. In certain elements, the traditional button tufting is replaced by a discreet internal fastening system, preserving the refined aesthetic while offering a contemporary twist.
The backrest’s uniformly soft feel is achieved with a pre-formed polyurethane insert, while the single-seat cushion and generously wide armrest are filled with feathers around a core of expanded polyurethane, ensuring exceptional comfort. A version with a narrower armrest is also available, offering increased seating space within the same overall footprint.
Meticulous edge-stitching and the exquisite leather craftsmanship of the integrated side tables reflect the attention to detail that defines Cassina’s masterful artisanship. The Volage EX-S collection supports a wide range of configurations and is complemented by matching low tables and additional modular elements.
